Ports in the Baltic region have been among the fastest growing in Europe in recent years. Several direct call deepsea mainline services are now scheduled to the area and more will follow.

In 2012, the main container ports in the Baltic saw their throughput grow 4% and total volumes rose to almost double the levels of 2004. In the first six months of this year, the region’s throughput rose 11% on the corresponding period of 2012.
