APM Terminals has announced plans to invest almost €760M in a fully automated container terminal at Tanger-Med, Morocco, modelled on Maasvlakte II in Rotterdam. The terminal will have 2,000m of linear deepwater quay and capacity for 5M TEU when fully built. Operations are due to start in 2019 on the basis of a 30-year concession from Tanger Med Special Agency (TMSA).
