Strike in Montreal lifted, negotiations in deadlock

Strike-torn Suakin
At the end of July, protests closed Sudan’s second biggest port, Suakin, as the country’s unstable political environment continued to hit the port sector. The dispute stems from conflict between established port workers and 190 new recruits, with claims that all the new employees came from the same ethnic group.
