New crane from Latvia
JSC RIKON has delivered a new crane to the Port of Brčko in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The crane is a double jib level luffing crane produced in Latvia by JSC RIKON. It will be operated by Luka Brčko d.o.o.
The crane is part of a transport system development project to renovate the river Port of Brčko funded by the EU’s European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
“As part of the implementation, a comprehensive supply of modern cargo handling equipment and a bulk cargo hopper was carried out. One of the key elements of the upgraded infrastructure is the portal crane, which has a nominal working capacity of 550 tons per hour when operating with an 11m³ grab,” RIKON AS said.
The crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 27t. It was designed and fabricated in-house by JSC RIKON without the use of subcontractors. The company also integrated the drive, which uses Siemens SIMATIC S7 components.
“The successful completion of this project will improve logistics and make an important contribution to the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina. JSC RIKON continues to actively work on projects aimed at developing transport infrastructure across Europe,” the company concluded.
