US$ 52m rail project at LA’s Fenix Marine Terminal approved
NewsThe Los Angeles Harbour Commission has approved a US$ 52 million on-dock rail project at Fenix Marine Terminal.
Searoad Holdings, which recently bought Bass Strait operator Patrick Shipping and associated Tasmanian transport and freight forwarding interests from the Toll Group, has announced plans to spend A$120M on two new ships for the Tasmania-Victoria trade.
The Searoad consortium comprises a number of independent forwarders and transport companies, as well as the Chas Kelly Transport Group, and this appears to have resulted in a measurable shift of Bass Strait cargo from other operators.
