Hapag-Lloyd warns of trading uncertainty

While Rolf Habben Jansen, CEO of Hapag-Lloyd, expects the carrier’s operating profit (EBITDA) in 2022 to be similar to the record achieved in 2021 (US$12.8B), he has warned that instability in the market and rising costs made an actual forecast extremely difficult. He also sees trading conditions “as returning to some kind of normality by the end of the year”.
