With a total traffic of 7.7 mt last year (plus 5.3 per cent on 2003), the Port of Lille (PFL) is France’s third largest river port, after Paris and Strasbourg. Most tonnage is derived from road and rail traffic, generated by the panoply of industrial activities and logistic services carried out on PFL’s total land resources of 335-ha.
