Africa freight corridors are essential

A main topic of discussion at TOC Africa, held in Durban in early December 2017, was the growing role and significance of dedicated freight corridors. These are rail (primarily) and road links connecting ports with landlocked African nations and/or mines/key inland cities. Johnny Smith, CEO of the Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG) described them as the “lifelines of trade for several countries, and transformational when it comes to moving freight”
