Intermodal – thinking inside the box

The Port Equipment Manufacturers Association elected new Board members and discussed its work programme for 2024 at its Annual General Meeting in Killarney.

The annual IAPH World Ports Conference will be held at Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., from 31 October to 2 November 2023 and will assess the indispensable role of ports in global maritime trade, bringing together key industry stakeholders for learning, information sharing, networking and collaboration.

Exhibition includes new ideas for folding containers, containers that can transport loose bulk and packaged cargo, and systems for container tracking and monitoring. On the exhibition floor, there should be plenty of talk about the first large scale container factory outside of China.

Event will now take place in November, 2022.

Conference and exhibition will now be held in Autumn 2021.

China is the main factor behind a 7% increase in demand for reefer container transport this year.
