Crane simulator for Port Nelson

Bolloré Transport & Logistics Côte d’Ivoire has acquired, from an unnamed supplier, its first crane simulator, which is now installed at Bolloré’s Pan-African Port Training Centre (CFPP) in Abidjan.

Finland-based simulation services provider Mevea Ltd chose TOC Europe 2022 in Rotterdam to launch what it claims to be the most advanced port equipment operator training solutions on the market

It goes without saying that the past year has been a tough time for ports. One issue, among many, is whether the pandemic has had an impact on training and education.

In December 2019, the Port of Corpus Christi in Texas received a new Liebherr LPS 550 crane, shipped in large subassemblies from Rostock by BigLift Shipping. The US$9.3M crane, which replaced a gantry grab unloader dating from the 1950s, was erected and commissioned during January and February 2020.

Simulator covers operations within a stack and to and from chassis.

The Port of Douro, Leixões and Viana do Castelo Authority (APDL) is to issue an international public tender for the supply of a crane simulator.
