MCT Medenter Container Terminal has acquired four automatic, fully-electric overheight attachments from Stinis Lifting Equipment

Speaking at TOC Europe in Rotterdam earlier this year, Lars Meurling, vice president EMEA and marketing, and Joakim Heijbel, director of digitalisation and sustainability at Bromma, outlined some of the benefits that over 50 terminals are realising with its Spreader Monitoring System (SMS) tool to monitor ‘spreader health’.

Spain-based engineering company Inamer SL has made further improvements to its Flexi-Flipper product.

Netherlands-based Stinis Spreaders offers an auto greasing option for reducing spreader maintenance. The system uses an Eco-star hydraulic grease pump from Sterk, also based in the Netherlands, for central lubrication.

Last year, VDL Container Systems disclosed that it had developed a hybrid spreader, whereby, when strong gather torque is needed, an electric motor powers a closed loop hydraulic system for the flippers, and all other functions, such as telescoping and twistlock actuation, are powered electrically, as on VDL’s all-electric telescoping spreaders.
