On 27 March, history was made when the first container freight train was moved between India and Bangladesh. The train from the north-eastern Indian city of Kolkata to Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka carried 60 TEU, mainly containing animal feed and fast moving consumer goods. The return trip mainly transported containerised textiles and apparel.
