Potentially “bad debts” from Daewoo Motor notwithstanding, after some 16 months of operational “fusion” the Wallenius Wilhelmsen (WWL) partnership is working well. It is moving annually some 1.5 mill vehicles and 300,000 other rolling cargo units by sea and 1.5 mill vehicles inland of which 250,000 are processed in its own vehicle processing centres. Operating savings have been gained and the deal has allowed eight short- and medium-term charters to be returned to their owners while utilisation
