MaxiPanamax box ship widened

Niederelbe Schiffahrtsgesellschaft mbH & Co KG Buxtehude (NSB), one of the world’s largest project financiers/owners of container vessels, has come up with what is claimed to be the world’s first conversion of a MaxiPanamax vessel to post-Panamax, from 4,860 TEU to 6,300 TEU, by widening it from 32.2m to around 40m, in close cooperation with DNV GL. The length increases marginally by around 8m to 270m.
