Port of Long Beach and Port NOLA secure federal grants
NewsTwo Port of Long Beach companies will receive US$43.9 million, while the Port of New Orleans secured US$7.1 million for reducing truck emissions.
Reefer plugs under review
The trend towards automation has focused terminal operators on how to minimise the amount of time reefer service personnel need to enter the reefer areas to service containers. Automation makes it more difficult, but not impossible, for people and cranes to operate in close proximity, so automated terminals are looking for other ways to get information on the status of containers.
