GOCT plays CHESS
Korea-based Total Soft Bank (TSB) has implemented its Container Handling Equipment Supervisor System (CHESS) optimisation software at Guangzhou South China Oceangate Container Terminal (GOCT) in Nansha, China. GOCT handled 4.5M TEU in 2013 and has been using TSB’s CATOS TOS since 2007. In July 2012 it began a project to reduce yard truck deployment by using software to reduce empty travelling distances, introduce double cycling and optimise internal truck deployment.
