Tideworks goes mobile

Tideworks Technology has announced the first deployment of a new app version of its Forecast customer service web portal.

Called Mobile Lite, the new app has been implemented at Conley Terminal in the Port of Boston, which is owned and operated by the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport). The mobile application allows terminal customers to search for container availability information in real time.

“We’re very pleased to partner with Conley Terminal for the initial deployment of the mobile version of our customer service web portal,” said Michael Schwank, president of Tideworks Technology. “Forecast Mobile Lite represents our continued dedication to providing our customers with innovative new tools that help them work more efficiently. It was built on a powerful and flexible technology platform, which provides our team the ability to develop more mobile apps in the future.”

Using Mobile Lite terminal truckers and other customers can access container availability information from a smartphone. “Users can get all the information they need before they arrive at the terminal, which saves time and helps avoid potential issues at the terminal gate” stated Todeworks. With the first version of the mobile app, users can:

Search for containers by Bill of Lading or container number
Instantly view release and availability status
Add multiple containers to a personal “Watch List” to easily monitor their status
View other container-related information such as hazardous information, vessel/ voyage and whether any fees are due

Forecast Mobile Lite is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. “Forecast Mobile Lite will later be extended to other terminals, and subsequent versions will provide port community users with additional features and benefits, including the ability to search for subscribing terminals in the area and connect to multiple terminals” added Tideworks.
