MGI launches AI intiatiive

Port ICT specialist MGI and Marseille Fos Port have won the Gold Prize for the best “Smart Port information systems project” at the IAPH conference.

Logistics IT company Marseille Gyptis International (MGI) has announced that the percentage of containers loaded at Marseille-Fos with a VGM declaration provided via the AP+ Cargo Community System has reached over 90%.

While the scope of port community systems remains national, at best, providers and developers of the networks are keen to use their experience and expertise globally.

Marseilles-based port cargo logistics and IT expert MGI – Marseilles Gyptis International has unveiled its next generation cargo community system.

Container terminal performance at leading French cargo port Marseilles Fos is as competitive and reliable as at other major European ports, according to the port authority, citing 2013 data gathered by Via Marseilles Fos. The port’s marketing consortium identified 17 key performance indicators across three service categories – maritime, landside links and cargo-handling – in an exercise to build customer confidence following the French port reforms implemented in 2011.
