Intermodal’s tender shoots

Frankfurt-based Kombiverkehr KG is expanding its intermodal rail services in Sweden and will from mid-January be including calls at Hallsberg, Norrköping and Stockholm Norra (Rosersberg, which is located about 30km north of the city). Previously, Kombiverkehr’s operations in the country were confined to terminals in Gothenburg, Malmö and Trelleborg.

An initiative of the Swedish Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure to promote modal shift awaits approval from the European Commission. Separately, Kombiverkehr is set to increase its coverage of the Swedish market
