Plans for the South Corridor Great Lakes Railway Project were presented at the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region in the Zambian capital Lusaka last month.

The railway would connect several of the region’s most important ports on lakes Edward, Kivu and Tanganyika with existing railways through the construction of 900 kms of new line.
