Longer combi-trains?

Jean-Claude Brunier, president of France’s umbrella lobby group for combined transport, GNTC, is calling for longer intermodal trains up to 1000m long, with higher trailing loads of up to 2000t. The limit today for intermodal trains in France is 750m, but today only three terminals have long enough sidings to avoid having to split 750m trains into two parts.
