Barge terminal for Alblasserdam
The town of Alblasserdam, east of Rotterdam, will get a new intermodal barge terminal. The location for the Port of Rotterdam’s so-called “Container Transferium” was agreed by Rotterdam port authority (GHR) and the Dutch Transport Ministry last year (see WorldCargo News July 2008, p13). As also previously reported, the facility will be operated by the Dutch Inland Container Terminals Association (BCTN).
