Rotterdam Betuwe Route bypass into service
NewsCargo trains will once more be able to use the main Rotterdam port rail trunk line (Havenspoorlijn) from 8 November, following a six-day closure for the completion of a promising bypass

The Dutch Betuwe Route, the dedicated freight rail link between Rotterdam, Amsterdam and the German border, will not be matched by equivalent capacity tracks on the German side before 2017 at the earliest, some four years later than was earlier agreed with the German authorities.
