DB Schenker Rail and SBB Cargo have extended an agreement made last year, covering rail transit through Switzerland via the Gotthard and Lötschberg, for a further five years to 2020. The agreement gives DB advantages even before the official opening of the new Gotthard base tunnel with P400 gauge in 2016, while the commitment from DB helps to ensure SBB Cargo’s long-term competitiveness.
