China and Kazakhstan to invest in Aktau port container hub
NewsChina and Kazakhstan agreed to invest US$3.7 billion in joint projects, including the construction of a new container hub at Aktau Port on the Caspian Sea coast.
Asset Irgaliyev, Kazakhstan’s vice minister of national economy, has said that the government will invest US$8.5B in transport and logistics infrastructure, with a view to accommodating up to 2M TEU/year of transit traffic by 2020, including 800,000 TEU moving between Europe and China.
