TX Logistik, Wascosa to market NiKRASA handling system

The acquisition of Exploris Deutschland Holding GmbH in Hamburg makes TX Logistik the second biggest rail freight company in Germany in tonne-km terms, after DB Cargo
TX Logistik AG is part of the Logistics Business Unit of FS Italiane Group. Thanks to this latest acquisition, FS is now able to operate in in eight European countries through the companies belonging to Exploris Deutschland Holding GmbH Hamburg, including Via Cargo, HSL Logistik and Delta Rail.
The deal is subject to regulatory approvals. The international rail connections of Exploris are strongly oriented to east-west connections and therefore complement TX Logistik’s network, which is mainly north-south aligned.
The acquisition also strengthens FS Group’s presence in the European market, enhancing traffic to and from Italy, for the benefit of Italian industry import and export services.
“We are very proud of this transaction,” said Sabrina De Filippis, CEO of Mercitalia Logistics. “It allows us to expand our European presence by offering more in-depth and efficient services to Italian companies, as well as the market in general. Furthermore, we will be able to achieve synergies and scale economies, both in commercial and operational terms, for the benefits of the whole FS Group.”
It has been reported in Italy that MSC wants to buy 49% of TX Logistik. According to Corriere della Sera, talks are underway under the aegis of a MoU signed last September by Ferrovie dello Stato and MSC aimed at increasing the rail share of sea port container traffic.
