HHLA Q1 2024 profit declines
NewsHHLA’s Q1 2024 revenue and earnings declined due to global crises and the Red Sea conflict, with revenue down 0.3% and EBIT down 23.9%, resulting in a net loss of EUR 1.1 million.
Explaining the decision to wind up merger talks with BLG Logistics (last month’s WorldCargo News, p10), HHLA boss Peter Dietrich said that the big players have already found their respective partners and further consolidation would be of little practical value. It might also have attracted unwelcome attention from German and EU cartel authorities.
