As part of its strategy of serving local markets through local facilities, container and trailer parts distributor Martec International, the US member of the Intermodal Equipment Alliance (IEA), recently opened a new facility in Charleston (SC) to serve the needs of container and chassis owners and repairers in Charleston, Savannah (GA), and Jacksonville (FL). Meanwhile, the Martec Gulf operation, headquartered in Houston, has opened a new facility in New Orleans to serve the Louisiana market. Darryl Materne, who comes to Martec with 23 years’ experience in the truck/trailer and chassis industries, has been hired to assist Ashley Eakes to expand the company’s activities in this area.
