There has been substantial growth in numbers of flexitanks in recent years, and they have become a serious competitor to tank containers for transporting non-hazardous liquids. No official figures exist for the number of flexitank movements, but industry estimates put the figure at between 700,000 and 900,000 for 2015. Whatever the exact number, the growth trajectory has been entirely positive over the last 10 years.
