Mantsinen cranes bound for UK and France

News

Meriaura Oy’s open deck carrier MERI has just taken on board four Mantsinen cranes bound for the UK and for France

The consignment comprises two Mantsinen crawler-mounted, all-electric 95ER cranes for Associated British Ports’ Port of Ipswich, a rubber-tyred Mantsinen 300M Hybrilift for Associated British Ports’ Port of Immingham, and a rail-mounted, all-electric Mantsinen 300S for Bordeaux Opérations Portuaires, the stevedoring arm of the port authority (GPM de Bordeaux-Le Verdon).

The 300 series is Mantsinen’s biggest crane and machines on rubber tyres, rails and crawlers have been supplied to date.

The combined weight of the load on MERI is 1000 tonnes, including attachments. The first drop-off is the Mantsinen 300M in Immingham, with a self-weight of around 365 tonnes, and able to service panamax vessels at rates in excess of 1400 tph (based on the performance achieved by the 300M Hybrilift in the Port of Belfast, NI).

Next off are the two 95ERs, configured around the specific operating requirements of ABP Ipswich. These are the first electric Mantsinen machines supplied by Coopers and the first mains-powered hydraulic cranes in a general port environment in the UK.

Last off is the 300S, weighing in at more than 400 tonnes, at the French Atlantic port.
