Chinese container ship operator SITC Line to strengthen cooperation with Fujian Port Group.

Chinese container ship operator SITC Line has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Fujian Port Group.

The two companies presented the progress and operations of their businesses in China and Indonesia. Moving forward, they plan to leverage the strategic location of Fujian Port Group and the shipping resources of SITC under the “Belt and Road” initiative to develop new sea routes and modernize port and shipping operations.

This partnership will focus on enhancing trade connections between the two countries, promoting innovation in the port and shipping sector, and driving high-quality development in the industry.

In January this year, SITC signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Xiamen Port Holdings Group, a member of Fujian Port Group.

Xiamen Port Holding was integrated into Fujian Port Group as a wholly-owned subsidiary in 2020.

As part of the agreement, SITC plans to bolster cooperation with Xiamen Port, Fuzhou Port, Quanzhou Port and other ports. The two sides aim to complement each other’s strengths, and explore ways to deepen cooperation.

In the future, the two sides will engage in comprehensive business cooperation, focusing on route network layout, international transit, full logistics service chain, cross-border e-commerce, hinterland cargo source expansion, and port intelligence and digital transformation.

Fujian has the second longest coastline in China, stretching 3,752 kilometres. The province hosts 125 ports, with the largest being Fuzhou Port, Xiamen Port, Quanzhou Port, and Putian Port.
