DP World introduces eight Kalmar electric straddle carriers for London Gateway’s new berth, aiming for the world’s first all-electric port fleet.

The newly arrived quay cranes at London Gateway are expected to operate for at least 25 years, and are sized to accommodate world’s largest container ships.

The construction work undertaken by contractors Ryebridge Construction has further strengthened the rail facilities for customers at the Port of Southampton.

Hooper brings his extensive 35-year port experience including 15 years at Mitsui O.S.K Lines (MOL) as Senior Intermodal Manager.

DP World Southampton hopes an increase in financial incentives will encourage more of its customers to use rail to move their cargo to/from the port.
