Salerno Container Terminal (SCT) has ordered a range of new equipment, slated for delivery starting from February onwards. The deals include six new model 379.6 laden-handling reach stackers from CVS Ferrari, capable of 6-high stacking in the first row; three (plus two options) twinlift spreaders from Smits in Holland for use on harbour mobile cranes; three new CVS Ferrari TT2516 terminal tractors; and five more 3-trailer MTS sets from Houcon Cargo Systems in Holland. Kalmar, which is part of Finland’s Cargotec group is to supply Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam with two fully electric and eight hybrid straddle carriers. The machines will be used in the company’s ECT Delta terminal and be delivered by the end of this year.
