North America – no go for ro-ro?
Despite the growing interest in short sea shipping in North America as a means of relieving highway congestion, in practice the concept is making little headway. Ro-ro loading and discharge, the simplest way to make short sea shipping work, is finding only limited appeal in the region, outside established ferry operations.
