India eyes Sittwe deal

India is close to signing an agreement with Myanmar’s military junta to develop the Port of Sittwe on the Kaladan river, about 200 km south of Chittagong port in Bangladesh. “We will sign a formal agreement on the Sittwe seaport in a few weeks,” said a Foreign Ministry official.
