SA vehicle exports to rocket

Automotive giant Toyota has announced that it expects to ship 147,000 vehicles out of South Africa during the course of this year. Over the past five years, Toyota has invested heavily in its local assembly plant at Prospecton, just outside Durban, to expand it from a purely domestic supplier to a more export-orientated facility. This is likely to put greater pressure on the country’s main automotive port facility, Durban Car Terminal (DCT).
