The Panama Canal Authority plans to build a new reservoir along the Indio River within six years, to maintain a transit capacity of 36-40 ships daily.

The Panama Canal Authority will add a Neopanamax Locks booking slot starting August 5, and has increased the maximum allowable draft.

The Panama Canal will increase daily transits from 32 to 34 by July 22 and raise the draft from 45 to 46 feet starting June 15.
