Another monthly record for JNPA
NewsIn August 2024, India’s Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) set a new record by handling 639,336 TEU.
Indian engineering company Larsen and Toubro Ltd (L&T) and steelmaker Tata Steel are to develop a container terminal at Dhamra port in Orissa to tap demand for containerised cargo in the eastern part of India.
L&T and Tata Steel are equal partners in Dhamra Port Co, which is developing new cargo handling facilities to handle 22mtpa of iron ore, coking coal, thermal coal and limestone. The first phase of the development is scheduled to start operations in June.
