Pelindo to build new Jakarta terminal

A call by the 16,000 TEU CMA CGM ALEXANDER VON HUMBOLDT at Jakarta International Container Terminal, owned by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia, marks the largest vessel to call to date at an Indonesian port

Konecranes has received an order for a second Automated RTG system for a terminal in Indonesia, this time for the new Kuala Tanjung Port in North Sumatra.

DP World has signed an agreement with the Indonesian Government and port officials to advise on the development of the Kuala Tanjung greenfield port and logistics zone and Belawan port in North Sumatra.

Konecranes has received an order for a second automated RTG system for a terminal in Indonesia, this time for the new Kuala Tanjung Port in North Sumatra. Following the successful start of the ARTG system at TPKS Semarang in Central Java (operated by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III), Konecranes has landed a larger ARTG project for the Kuala Tanjung greenfield site.

The first phase of the automated RTG project in Semarang, delivered by Konecranes, indicates a bright future for the use of ARTG technology.

Indonesia’s Ministry of Transport is looking to further streamline pre-clearance regulations as it presses on with its plans to reduce dwell time at the country’s ports.
