CMA CGM, OTIs pay US$2.3m in penalties
NewsThe US Federal Maritime Commission secured over $2.3 million in penalties and business practice reforms from three companies through compromise agreements.
Terminal XXI, the PSA International and Tertir Group concession at the Portuguese port of Sines, has inaugurated its Phase IB development. This encompassed extending the deepwater berth by 350m to 730m and enlarging the container yard from 20 to 25 hectares.
Terminal XXI currently operates five STS cranes backed by 12 RTGs, and one more crane and another three RTGs (ie a Paceco España Portainer and Kalmar RTGs) will also be put into operation by the end of this year. The investment, which has so far amounted to E78M, doubles capacity to 1M TEU/year. In 2014, when Phase 2 is due for completion, total investment in the terminal will have reached more than E200M.
