New funds for Dar es Salaam

A total of US$211M is to be invested in infrastructural improvements at the port of Dar es Salaam over the next year, including seven deeper berths, dredging work and new silos. The Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) announced the funding for financial year 2013-14 as part of its strategy to compete with the neighbouring port of Mombasa in Kenya.
