The deal gives Fjord Line access to Cobelfret’s European freight transport network

Cobelfret affiliate C.Ro Ports has expanded its North Sea ro-ro terminals network with a deal to take over Broekman Automotive Division and its car terminal in Rotterdam. Explaining the decision to sell, Raymond Riemen, CEO of the Broekman Group, stated: “The sale of a single-focus terminal that offers only a limited synergy to the rest of the group is a logical next step.”

Stena Line has bareboat-chartered Cobelfret’s CAPUCINE and SEVERINE for five years for its Rotterdam-Harwich ro-ro service. As we reported on line in August, Cobelfret affiliate CLdN Ro-Ro axed its Ipswich-Rotterdam freight ro-ro service last month because of the state of the market and the question arose what would happen to the two newly-built Ipswichmax ro-ros deployed in the service, CAPUCINE and SEVERINE.
