Canada eyes reform
A review of Canada’s Transport Act has recommended the gradual phasing out of cabotage, provided for under the Coasting Trade Act. The review recommends phasing out current operating restrictions “beginning immediately with container services; eliminating restrictions altogether within a transition period of no more than seven years”.
