OMT welcomes its largest container ship
NewsOMT handled PIL’s 300m, 6,660-TEU Kota Cempaka, the largest container vessel to fully operate in Eastern Nigeria, loading and unloading 2,000 TEU.
In an attempt to improve efficiency levels at its ports and stem the flow of import/export cargo being routed through other countries, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Customs Service have agreed on a plan to phase in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and to implement a Single Window (SW) customs clearance platform in the country’s ports.
