Boost for Dar es Salaam

Tanzania’s finance and planning minister, Philip Mpango, has announced that the World Bank has agreed to lend US$305M to the Port of Dar es Salaam to finance expansion and improvements. The package was announced following talks between the World Bank’s vice president for Africa, Makhtar Diop, and Tanzania’s president, John Magufuli, about wider financing for infrastructure projects.
