Ro-ro simulator for Ports America’s PNAT

There are shortages in car carrying capacity, especially in China, where the export of electric vehicles has soared in the past two years.

The planned development of Louisiana International Terminal (LIT) downstream of the Port of New Orleans on the Mississippi River has received another financial boost, with it securing over US$226M in new federal funding.

APM Terminals (APMT)has finally agreed a deal with Plaquemines Port Harbor and Terminal District to help build and operate a new container terminal in Plaquemines Parish on the west bank of the Mississippi River about 20 miles south of New Orleans.

The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) is to receive US$73.77M from the federal government to support the development of its Louisiana International Terminal (LIT). LIT is to be built as the port’s new container gateway and to facilitate cargo movements on the Mississippi River and inland waterways of the United States.

DP World Yarimca and Chery Automotive, the large China-based manufacturer of automobiles, have developed a new racking system that enables 50% more vehicles to be loaded in a container compared with no racking.
