Dover cuts truck queues

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of Kent has helped Dover Harbour Board (DHB) to cut truck queues by improving the way the port forecasts likely traffic volumes to ensure it has enough staff on hand to process peak flows. The port can handle more than 10,000 trucks per day, and handles around £120B of UK-continent trade every year, while the summer months are extremely busy with touring cars and coach traffic.
