Throughputs decline at Nigeria’s main container ports in Q1

The number of containers handled at Nigeria’s main ports declined by more than 7% in Q1 2018. The combined throughput of 387,016 TEU handled at ports of Lagos/Apapa, Port Harcourt, Calabar and Onne compared with 416,807 TEU in the final quarter of 2017. A significant fall was
also posted in ports’ vehicle traffic, with 37,584 CEU processed, compared with 43,338 units in Q4 2017.
