There are growing signs of organised resistance to the privatisation of ports in Brazil. Five port administrations are to be transferred to the private sector. These are the Espírito Santo (Codesa) and Bahia (Codeba) dock companies, along with Santos Port Authority (SPA), and the ports of Itajaí and São Sebastião do Sul.
