La Spezia welcomes new service

Contship Italia Group assigns €50 million for upgrades in La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT) to bolster its competitiveness.

Cargo bound for Finland will still be loaded as scheduled, with transhipment in Tallinn, albeit with an additional freight adjustment of EUR 350 per container.

No new export or import bookings will be accepted to Baltimore until further notice. Alternate discharge ports will be available including Norfolk or New York.

The partnership will facilitate seamless door-to-door transportation services across the entire market, enhancing efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.

While the individual profits for each voyage are not always high, for carriers with hundreds of vessels this represents millions in surcharge profits every year.
